The victim from Wednesday night's shooting has been identified as Jaleisa Veazey, 24, of New haven. She was last listed in critical condition.

Fort Wayne Police responded to the shooting around 7:30 Wednesday night at the corner of Warsaw St. and Congress Ave. When officers arrived, they found Veazey sitting in the driver's seat of a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Veazey was transported to a local hospital in serious condition where she was later downgraded to critical condition. Officers believe Veazey was sitting in the car with a man in the passenger seat when a dark-colored SUV traveling southbound on Warsaw St. pulled up next to the vehicle and began firing gunshots.

Witnesses tell police they saw a shattered window on the SUV as it sped off. No arrests have been made, and there are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1222.
