Fort Wayne Police continue to investigate the deat of 59 year old Debra Jones on the Northeast side of town.  Officers are now calling her death a homicide.

The Allen County Coroner says Jones died of blood loss from a neck injury.

Neighbors say that this is a quiet area where crime doesn't happen too often.

"We are shocked, and a lot of us are very concerned because we don't know what happened to her", says neighbor Octavia Garrett who also says Myanna Lane is typically quiet.

"That's basically what drew us to this area."

Police were called to Debra Jones' house around 1:00pm in the afternoon on Friday.  Neighbor Scott Dicke says this makes him a bit uneasy.

"You had more of a sense of security, and now that something like this happens, it's like okay you gotta protect yourself a little bit more.  You gotta watch your back and make sure things are locked up."

Dicke says he's taking extra measure to secure his home.

"Now if we aren't home, we are locking the windows and doors, stuff like that."

The Allen County Coroner says this is the 30th homicide in Fort Wayne and Allen County.

"We are just very concerned that the murders need to stop in Fort Wayne.  There's been so much going on this year."

Family members were out at the house but wouldn't comment on the investigation.
