It's touted as one of the biggest Labor Day celebrations in the Midwest.  Thousands were at Headwaters Park, enjoying food, music, and games - all for free!

Free food, games, and rides kept thousands busy at Headwaters Park for the Northeast Indiana Central Labor Council Picnic.

"It's free hot dogs.  I brought my kids and we are just thankful for the event", says attendee Quinn Greg.

Attendee TJ Hall says, "Just having fun and letting my kids ride some rides and enjoy the good weather.  It's a great time with the family."

The event's organizer Tom Lewandowski says, "It's a good old fashioned picnic."  He says the picnic is a way to recognize those who work and sacrifice so much for their families.

"It is something that everyone should appreciate and enjoy with your loved ones.  This is kind of a party for the community, put on by the community."
