It’s been almost a week since the bench-clearing brawl broke out between South Side High School and Arsenal Tech.
Players, coaches and even fans were involved in the fight.
Earlier in the week the IHSAA handed down sanctions, suspending both head coaches for a game and dismissing the assistant coaches for the season. Any player seen in the video throwing a punch will also be suspended. Also, both programs are on one-year probation.
South Side football players and their parents met with school administrators to discuss the fall-out from the fight. The meeting was closed to the media, and parents we spoke with say that school leaders instructed them not to speak with the media. However, WFFT did speak with players and parents off camera.
Parents tell WFFT that the focus of the meeting was about moving forward from the fight and to be on their best behavior for the remainder of the season.
