Science Central held their 14th annual "Countdown to Noon" on New Years Eve.  The event is an opportunity for kids and parents to ring in the New Year a little bit early.

Hundreds of kids and parents came to Science Central to countdown.  Martin Fisher of Science Central talks about the popularity of this event.

"This event seems to be getting bigger and bigger, and what I find exiting is that I see a lot of the same families coming back year after year."

Joy used to bring Hailey's mom to Science Central years ago, and is now continuing the tradition by bringing Hailey.

"We are just spending our day here together, because we don't get to see Hailey very often and her mommy came as a little girl to Science Central and now we are bringing Hailey and she loves it."

They are not the only ones.  Over 700 people visited Science Central, which is one of their busiest days for the winter months.

"I've been seeing these kids get a little bit taller each year.  It's exciting because Science Central at noon is becoming a part of their family, holiday tradition."

In addition to the normal activities, kids could get their faces painted, make noisemakers, or decorate hats.

"We're going to start planning for this event next year, next week."

The event allows for parents and kids to celebrate and have a fun New Year's Eve tradition together.
