Along with the dip in the regions unemployment numbers, the state as a whole is also seeing positive numbers.

“We think the month to month decline has to do with some manufacturing workers going back to work after temporary retooling periods,” said Cutter,
Cutter advises people to be encouraged by the numbers, but to examine these them with caution.
“We still need to see if these numbers will be revised but for now there’s room for optimism,” said Cutter.
Cutter says the continuing problem remains getting the workforce numbers up to where they were before the recession. Currently, there are approximately 20,000 fewer people engaged in the workforce compared to 2006.
