Local Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Club Hosts 29th Unity Day

In celebration of MLK Day, the local Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Club hosted the 29th Unity Day to celebrate the leader Dr. King was.
"It's about giving back to the community. If you live in the community and especially if you're doing well in the community, you have a moral obligation to return something to your community and that's what we're trying to keep alive here in Fort Wayne."
In celebration of MLK Day, the local Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Club hosted the 29th Unity Day to celebrate the leader Dr. King was. The event was held at the Grand Wayne Center downtown.

It included a full day of events with guest speakers and live music.  The overall message was to not just spend this day off, but to spend it giving back.

Bennie Edwards, MLK Fort Wayne President says, "It's about giving back to the community.  If you live in the community and especially if you're doing well in the community, you have a moral obligation to return something to your community and that's what we're trying to keep alive here in Fort Wayne."

The event attracted thousands to the convention center and many from surrounding cities.
