Local Attorney Mike Loomis is throwing his hat in the ring for Allen County Prosecutor.  Loomis will run in the Republican Primary which will be held on May 6th.

Loomis says if elected he plans on enhancing the investigation unit of the prosecutors office in an effort to solve more crimes.

He wants to make Allen County a safer place, and says he can make a real change by reaching out to local youth who are involved in gang activity.

If you remember, Loomis ran unsuccessfully for Prosecutor back in 2002.  Allen County Republican Leader Steve Shine endorsed current Prosecutor Karen Richards at the time.

Loomis has a public history of butting heads with Shine but tells WFFT that he's confident that their relationship won't play a factor in the upcoming primary.

WFFT reached out to Shine for his take on Loomis' announcement but he declined to comment, saying that he doesn't publically speak about primary races.
