WFFT stopped by the Fort Wayne Airport to see how the LAX shooting spree affected flights locally and if our airport is prepared if a similar incident were to occur.

Fort Wayne doesn't fly directly to LA but flights do travel to and from through via nearby hubs like Chicago, so WFFT's Charlie De Mar spoke with the Director of Operations here at the Airport to see what if any impact the shooting had.

"Certainly we are aware of the situation at LAX and we are keeping in touch with TSA for any information that becomes available to see if there is any direction from them, otherwise we are going to maintain existing protocols."

Williams says no flights were delayed.  We asked if our airport security is prepared to handle a similar mass shooting.

Williams says officers locally go through training to handle a similar situation and feels confident in current security measure in place.
