A LaGrange County woman is missing and police say her boyfriend beat her up before shoving her in a car and driving off.

LaGrange County Sheriff Terry Martin says Jennifer Bitzel was abducted from the 3000 block of County Road 600 East around 10:30pm Wednesday night.

Witnesses say Bitzel's boyfriend, Steven Gose is responsible.  Bitzel called detectives around 2:00am Thursday morning saying she was okay but Martin has his suspicions.

"She called in but it sounded like it was a forced type of call where it was like 'I'm okay don't worry about me', but it sounded like someone was standing behind her saying 'you are going to say this or else'."

Authorities are concerned for Bitzel's safety because as Gose was leaving he told bystanders 'you won't see her alive again'.  Martin says Gose is no stranger to falling on the wrong side of the law.

"We've had him in our facility before, matter of fact, there's a parole warrant out for him right now."

Gose took off with Bitzel in a silver Pontiac Grand Prix with license plate number 543AIB.  Bitzel's children were left behind at the home and are now with child protective services.  As the search continues for Gose, Sheriff Martin says to consider him armed.  Do not approach him.  He is considered dangerous.
