We introduce you to the Liberty Sentrymen Motorcycle Club. A group that loves to ride and give back to the brave men and women who have served our country.

"I was a military police officer and I was deployed with a unit out of St Louis, the 354th which is a sister unit of 384th."

Meet Jonathon Strack, aka Papa Bear...the President and Founder of the Liberty Sentrymen.

"We all love motorcycles and we like helping veterans so we decided here's what we are gonna do."

While serving a tour of duty in Albazra Iraq back in 2009, Jonathon and some of his fellow battle buddies started talking about how they could help vets once their service was up.

"I've seen the support that we get, and the support that we don't get, and motorcycle community actually originated from World War II, so it started with vets, and it's just my way of being able to get veterans and civilians together under one banner and put it all together.  To help out those who need help and interact with the community, and help bring awareness to situations that need to be addressed."

To get the club going, Jonathon enlisted the help of long-time friend and active duty reservist Zane Unversagt, aka Grim.

"I'm a member of the 221st ordinance company on Nutman Avenue and I've done two tours in Afghanistan in 04-05 and 08-09.  As always veterans are our first job to support, our brothers and sisters that have put on their uniform and given their time and given up part of their family and everything else, so that's always gonna be our main goal."

Jonathon and Zane both agree that the Liberty Sentrymen is much more than just a riding club.  The club is made up of 60% veterans and 40% civilians and they're always looking for new members.

Already this year, they have helped out several local charities.  On June 26th, they escorted the Army National Guards 384th Security Police Battalion to a homecoming celebration at the Fort Wayne Coliseum, after that unit wrapped up a 10 month deployment in Afghanistan.

Saluting this week's Hometown Heroes, the Liberty Sentrymen Motorcycle Club.
