Growers, chefs, and musicians all came together to celebrate World Food Day.

The event took place at the Fresh Food Initiative Garden on the Southeast side of town.  Local chefs offered cooking demonstrations and food samples.

The public was also invited to purchase organic, local food from The Garden.

"We have about a dozen Burmese refugees growing their own food.  We're growing food for the community and this is a celebration of all that and we have other community food members.  Liquid Church is here.  We have other folks coming, chefs coming, it's just a big celebration of food, local food, urban farming, and community."

The Garden decided to celebrate World Food Day a month early because of the beautiful weather outside.  Visitors were invited to bring canned goods for a food drive benefiting several local charities.
