Gas Prices are Down: How Long Can We Expect It?

Cheaper gas is always good news though.  Oil analysts at GasBuddy.Com predicted these low gas prices for October because Winter grade fuel is less expensive.  They say the prices could possibly continue to fall through Thanksgiving.

Summer time is officially over and there's less of a demand for fuel which translates to cheaper prices at the pump.  For the first time in awhile, people are not complaining about gas prices.

"$2.00 would be even better but $3.16, you really can't beat that and you can save more with a club card", says Lindsey Stevenson who is looking forward to having more money in her pocket.

"Definitely going to get me further.  I can fill up on $40 and it used to be $50 or anywhere from $50-$55 and that extra $15 is nice because you can use it anywhere else except for the gas tank."

The average regular tank of gas in Fort Wayne is currently $3.16 and that price dropped 15 cents from a week ago and 42 cents a month ago.

GasBuddy.Com tracks fuel trends.  According to them, filling up this time a year ago cost locals 70 cents more.

"Gas prices lowering is awesome because I travel a lot you know, we all have to commute to and from work", says Anna Smith who already knows where she will use the extra money.  "It's going a lot to school, extra curricular activities, and Christmas for sure."
