A gas line break backed up traffic for hours in downtown Fort Wayne Tuesday.

After about 8-10 businesses were forced to evacuate as crews worked to shut the gas off.

As of 10pm, crews had stopped one of the two gas leaks.  It happened near the intersection of Berry St. and Webster St.  Gas was visible in the downtown area and the smell was strong.

Officials with the Fort Wayne Fire Department say an unmarked gas line was struck by a construction worker just before two this afternoon.
