Fort Wayne Community Schools declares an emergency.  The board approved more than $200,000 dollars from it's emergency fund, to fix an over-crowding problem at Levan Scott Academy.

The plan is to move a temporary classroom structure that currently sits at Study Elementary, and move it to Levan Scott Academy to provide more space for students.

The move doesn't come cheap.  It will run FWCS $110,000 dollars just to move the structures and an additional $150,000 for needed improvements.

Cathy Friend, FWCS's Chief Financial Officers says luckily, the 2013 budget had enough budgeted for this project without having to borrow.

She adds that the proposed 2014 budget has half the amount of emergency funds and a project like this wouldn't be possible next year given the limited funds.
