Fort Wayne's Commercial Facade Grant Program has Earned Award

The City of Fort Wayne's Commercial Facade Grant Program has earned the Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award.
The City of Fort Wayne's Commercial Facade Grant Program has earned the Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award.  The Grant Program is a dollar-for-dollar matching grant that provides up to $20,000 to single-tenant buildings and up to $40,000 to multi-tenant buildings.

This is provided by your tax dollars.  The Grant is designed to improve our city, both aesthetically and economically.

It allows small business owners and entrepreneurs to transform their older buildings into revitalized commercial real estate.

Aliza Tourkow, Grants Administrator says, "This is the only economic development program that we have with the city presently, that focuses on small businesses.  Not only are you keeping your customers from having to go to the suburbs, you're keeping them here.  More people notice your business so you get more business, then you employ more employees and your bottom line is raised so you're making more money."

If a business wants to apply for a Facade Grant, they can apply on the city's website.  cityoffortwayne.gov/commercialprograms.html or call 311 and ask for Aliza Tourkow.  The application period is from November 13th through December 13th, 2013.
