Former Indy Cop Bisard Sentenced

David Bisard learned his fate Tuesday.
David Bisard learned his fate Tuesday.  Allen County Judge, John Surbeck sentenced the former Indianapolis Metro Police officer to 16 years, with 13 of those to be served behind bars.

Earlier this month an Allen County jury convicted Bisard on nine counts, including reckless homicide and criminal recklessness after a 2010 crash that took the life of Eric Wells and injured two others.

Bisard apologized to the Wells family and took responsibility  for the crash.

However, he insists that he wasn't drunk the day of the crash.

WFFT spoke with the jury foreman, Eric's mother and attorneys for both sides.
