Firehouse Subs' "Public Safety Foundation" is donating 17 automated external defibrillators, or AED's to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

The Foundation raises money from it's guests with the mission of funding life saving equipment and educational opportunities to fires responders and public safety organizations.

Through this non-profit, Firehouse Subs has given $7.7 million dollars to first responders in 38 states.  That includes more than $186,000 dollars in Indiana alone.

Bob Filipucci, Co-Owner, Firehouse Subs says, "We're really excited because this is the first donation to first responders in Fort Wayne so we're about as excited to have the presentation here and the dedication as the Fort Wayne Police Department is to receive it."

This gift will cut in half the FWPD's need for AED's.
