The owner of a home day care in Carmel, Ind. was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of a five month-old.
The child died back in January 2012 while in Stacey Cox's care. According to the Indianapolis Star, Stacey Cox was also found guilty of misdemeanor deception and operating a child care home without a license.
Cox was found not guilty of reckless homicide, neglect of a dependent and misdemeanor unlicensed practice of nursing.
The prosecutor in the case argued that the baby suffocated because Cox left him in a broken playpen with an over-sized blanket.
Cox's daughter Kristen Phillips also faces charges relating to the baby's death. Her trial is scheduled to begin December 10th.
