As part of this year's "Turn the Town Pink" observance, several organizations in Fort Wayne are raising awareness about breast cancer this month.

The Old Fort raised their pink flag, which is possibly the largest pink flag.  A Fort Wayne woman who is currently fighting breast cancer had the honor of raising the flag.

Tom Grant on the Board of Directors of the Fort, says they are proud to help raise awareness of this campaign for the 3rd year in a row.

"Both my wife and I are connected to breast cancer.  I lost my mom to breast cancer.  She lost her mom to Lymphoma.  We've got a lot of friends that have struggled with disease and this is Fort Wayne, it's one of our absolute symbols of the City."

It's one of the tallest flag poles in Allen County, will be seen flying proudly during the entire month of May, except during the weekend events when a historical glad will be flown instead to go alone with the era of that weekend's reenactment.
