Start Something Big - Makayla

WFFT's Kristen Kirchhaine and eight year old Makayla spent time at Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink.
" ...The things my brothers do, I can't do... and it's really boring." -Makayla, on why she wants a Big Sister
WFFT's Kristen Kirchhaine and Makayla spent time at Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink, where Makayla got to try ice skating for the first time.

Eight year old Makayla likes sports, so this was right up her alley.

"I like to play basketball and sometimes play football," said Makayla.

It's been a little cold for outdoor sports, and Makayla is excited for summer.  She enjoys swimming, playing at the park, and running. Her favorite part about the 3rd grade: recess.  At home, Makayla doesn't have any sisters, only brothers.  That is a big part of the reason she'd like a Big Sister.

"Not have to be with boys all the time.  The things my brothers do, I can't do... and it's really boring," she said.

Because Makayla likes sports and being outdoors, she hopes a future Big is athletic and ready for a good time!  To learn more about becoming a Big Sister to Makayla, please call Big Brothers Big Sisters at 456-1600.
