FORT WAYNE, In. -- Jimella was recently matched with a Big Sister. WFFT's Kristen Kirchhaine met up with her at the print shop, Hedgehog Press, to talk about her new match.

Part of the reason Jimella wanted a Big Sister was because she doesn't have any siblings at home.

"I like being there by myself, but I don't like being lonely either," she said.

Now, thirteen year old Jimella has a Big Sister, who she met for the first time last week.

"I was happy. She's nice. She's pretty," Jimella said.

And Jimella is looking forward to spending time with her Big.

"Learning new things, learning how to cook. To work on things at school. I like to go to the movies, I like to go out to eat too sometimes," she said.

Her Big Sister will be there to support her and give encouragement with lots of things, including her ambitious career choice, to become a pediatric doctor. Jimella already plans to give back to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program as an adult by becoming a Big Sister herself one day.

"Because I always wanted a little sister, too," Jimella said.
