Start Something Big - Brandon

Eleven year old Brandon has a great attitude and a great smile. He hopes that after spending two years on the waiting list, his wait for a Big Brother is almost over.
"So I could do different things, cause sometimes I get bored at home." -Brandon, about why he wants a Big Brother
Eleven year old Brandon has a great attitude and a great smile. He hopes that after spending two years on the waiting list, his wait for a Big Brother is almost over. WFFT's Kristen Kirchhaine spent time with him in the summer heat over at Buckner Park.

Brandon has just started a new phase of his life...middle school.

"I'm excited that we get to use lockers and new opportunities and stuff," he said.

He is also excited about the chance to play sports.

"I'm going to play basketball. It is my favorite sport and I'm going to probably play football too."

You don't hear this very often...history is his favorite subject!

"Learning about the old things, like Abraham Lincoln and stuff like that."

Aside from sports and school, Brandon enjoys playing games, drawing, putt-putt golf, cheering on the Miami Heat, and helping others.  Brandon knows a Big Brother could offer him new opportunities.

"So I could do different things, cause sometimes I get bored at home."

At home, it's just Brandon, his mom, and his baby sister.  A Big would be a guy to share his interests with and someone to look up to.  Also, Brandon has never been to an amusement park and hopes a Big will take him someday.
