Sharon Versyp Continues Success with Lady Boilers

The former Boilermaker point guard has led Purdue to two NCAA Tournament Elite Eight appearances and seven appearances in her last eight seasons as the head coach at Purdue. She visited Fort Wayne as part of the Purdue Coaches Caravan and talked to WFFT about how adversity has effected her team and how she plans on continuing to be successful in the future. The former Boilermaker point guard has led Purdue to two NCAA Tournament Elite Eight appearances and seven out of the last eight NCAA Tournament appearances  in her eight seasons as the head coach at Purdue. She is the second-winningest coach in Purdue history.  She  earned her 180th win on the Boilermaker sidelines on Feb. 20, 2014, and earned career victory No. 300 with an NCAA First Round victory on March 22, 2014. Her record of 183-88  with the Boilermakers is unprecedented, and her team averaged of 23 wins per season, a 300-153 in 14 seasons as a Division I head coach.  She will be in charge of the Lady Boilers through 2017-2018
