Scotty McCreery was in the Summit City for a benefit concert to raise money for St. Jude's.

McCreery won American Idol in 2010 as a 17 year old and now 3 years later has traveled coast to coast performing.

WFFT had an exclusive interview with him before his concert.

"Favorite part about performing would be the fans.  It's the live experience seeing em go crazy, seeing em smile singing songs back to you, it makes it all worth while.  I'm in the studio a lot writing songs and the process of making music is fun but it takes awhile but to see the fans singing back to you and that they're enjoying what you're doing is pretty satisfying."

Scotty says his crowds have everyone from strollers to wheelchairs and he loves that his music is universal and everyone can enjoy it.
