Salvation Army in Need of Donations

The Salvation Army is in need of donations as they fell short during the holiday season.
The Salvation Army is in need of donations as they fell short during the holiday season, which is their major fundraising season.  Their goal was short about $130,000 dollars.

Major Harold Poff, the Allen County Coordinator for the Salvation Army, says they especially need cash assistance in order to provide basic needs for the community.

"We're able to help them stay in their homes by helping pay their rent and keeping their utilities turned on, so certainly it's a quality of life issue for those folks.  If they can't get the kind of assistance, they're either evicted.  If they have children, authorities can get involved, then they can have their children taken away so it's critical for most of our families."

If you'd like to make a donation to the Salvation Army, you can visit their main location at 2901 North Clinton or go to their website at safortwayne.org.
