A proposed project that will bring a new jail  and court house  to downtown Decatur brought  concerned citizens together for the second week in a row in Adams County.

County leaders say they’ve outgrown the current jail and need a new facility to meet their needs.

The idea is to centralize the courts and jail together because the two municipalities work hand in hand.  The current jail was meant to house 32 inmates until bunk beds were added to create room for about 60 inmates.   Currently, there’s an average of 75 inmates, but that number is expected to rise.
