The Jack Laurie Group has been in business since the 1950s.

It’s this week's Locally Made Monday report.

The Jack Laurie Group is based right here in Fort Wayne, but in those sixty years, it has expanded all across the state.

And it’s looking to expand even further.

It has local employees, with local products, and employees are looking to keep everything local for our region.

Since Jack Laurie founded his business in 1950, it's been a staple to local service in northeast Indiana.

"Primarily we are going to sell and install and maintain all types of floor coverings, wall coverings, and ceilings, so, on the interiors of the building,” says CEO John Laurie.

Laurie says it started out doing mostly commercial flooring.

"All major commercial buildings, at one point or another, we've been involved in,” Laurie says.

It has commercial suppliers outside of town in Indianapolis, Carmel, and Lafayette.

"So commercially, we're in hospitals, schools, health care facilities, and residentially in mid-to-high end homes,” Laurie says.

And in the past few years, opened a cleaning supply store in Fort Wayne and also a residential showroom.

Laurie says it's expanded to 225 employees, and is looking to further expand into Bloomington, Muncie and Warsaw.

"At the end of the day, we really want to be an Indiana-based company, that's servicing all of the businesses and homes in the state of Indiana,” Laurie says.

He says that local focus is what keeps the company grounded.

"We think to have- to deliver the service that we really want to deliver, we've got to have relationships with our customers, and we think if we expand our reach beyond the state of Indiana, that that would impact the service we'd be able to bring,” Laurie says.
