Dozens gathered at the Fleet Feet Sports store wearing the traditional Boston Marathon blue and yellow colors.

"26 balloons were released before runners set out on the memorial run."

Those WFFT spoke with say coming together on the anniversary of the bombings brings the local running community together.

The first mile of the run was done in complete silence to pay tribute to the Boston bombing victims.  The 2014 Boston Marathon is scheduled for Monday.
