Friends and family say goodbye to 17 year old Haley Nellum.  WFFT's Tara Petitt has more on a visitation and vigil to remember Haley.

It was an overwhelming response from the community.  Hundreds of people were there to give condolences to the family and every person WFFT spoke with said in some form or another, how much they were going to miss Haley's smile.

It was a great evening for friends, loved ones and family to come together and share their memories of Haley Nellum.

"Words can't describe how I'm feeling about this loss."

They gathered at D.O. McComb & Sons in Fort Wayne for a vigil held in her memory.  It was a time for loved ones to remember all the good memories shared with the 17 year old Bishop Dwenger High School student.

"I remember how she made everyone laugh, and she was always the life of the party and we would always have so much fun when we were together."

"Haley was a great person.  She was always smiling.  Whenever I was in a bad moos, I would say hi to her, she would say hi and she would smile, and it would just lift you up."

"She was always smiling, and always making people happy."

Lindsey Sharpe knew Haley since grade school.

"She was really fun, outgoing person, and she was very caring and very athletic.  She was really dedicated to her sports, just a really good person."

Other friends, old and new, shared how they were touched by Haley's life.

"All the joy she brought around with her everywhere she went."

"I just hope she rests in peach and I get to see her again."
