Firehouse Subs is donating almost 700 smoke alarms and 10 radiation monitors to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

A donation worth more than $17,000 dollars.  Customers that eat at Firehouse Subs are given the option to round up their bill to the nearest dollar.  That money is then donated to the First-Responders and Public Safety Organizations.

Since 2005, Firehouse Subs customers have donated over $9 million dollars.

Fort Wayne Fire Department Chief Amy Biggs says this is the great partnership.

"That we can be a participant in their success as a growing business here locally in Fort Wayne and that they pay that back.  They pay that forward to the emergency responders in the community.  It's a great partnership, it's a great relationship and in the end, the community benefits."

If you would like to apply for a smoke alarm, you can go to the Fort Wayne Fire Department in person to fill out an application or you can click here for the online application.
