Six police agencies are investigating the discovery of human remains found in rural
The body was found Monday in a wooded area at the Jay County Conservation Club, and investigators believe they have identified the remains as Brianna DiBattiste, who has been missing since June 16th.
"It’s worrisome because they don't know who did it so who knows if they're going to do it to someone else," said Sherri Riley.
Several neighbors around the Conservation Club said they bike around the area all the time and are surprised the body was not found earlier.
Jay County Prosecuting Attorney Wes Schumenaur said in a statement,
"Investigators have preliminarily identified the body as Ms. DiBattiste. A DNA test will be performed in order to confirm the identity."
Sherri Riley heard the body could be DiBattiste's and has a message for her family.
"I’m sorry about your daughter and I hope they find who killed her and all you can say is you're sorry you feel so bad for ‘em."
