Banding of 3 Falcon Chicks at One Summit Square

Indiana Michigan Power hosted the banding of 3 young falcon chicks at One Summit Square.
Indiana Michigan Power hosted the banding of 3 young falcon chicks at One Summit Square.

The baby falcons are nesting at the top of the building downtown.

The banding creates a unique identification number for the falcons, making them easier to track.

A Biologist with the Department of Natural Resources says this particular type of falcon is a rare species in Indiana.

Students from Abbett Elementary School recommended 10 names for the falcons.

Facebook followers chose the top names.  The 3 male falcon chicks are named Abbett, Magic, and Cheetah.  The parents are named Moxie and Jamie.
