One of the draws of the Komets joining the ECHL a couple years ago was the potential for fans to see top flight talent with NHL potential.

The guy who started nearly half the season in net for the K's has turned potential into reality as Andrey Makarov has been called up to the Buffalo Sabres.

The 21 year old played in 31 games for the Komets this season, posting a 15-11-4 record to go along with a 2.79 goals against average and 906 save percentage.

Makarov was assigned to Rochester of the NHL on March 17th and will take the roster spot of the Sabre's Nathan Lewin who was shut down with a season ending concussion.
