Leaders with the Fort Wayne International Airport announced 2 new direct routes to the east coast.

Starting October 2nd, passengers can fly directly from the Fort Wayne Airport into Charlotte, North Carolina and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The flights operated by American Airlines will offer two flights to Philadelphia and one to Charlotte daily.  Leaders say this is a large achievement for our region.

Last year the airport also announced direct routes to Phoenix, Arizona through Allegiant Air.  They say their focus has been on expanding direct routes to the east coast for about 10 years.  Flights don't take off until October but you can start booking as early as this week.
