Butler outlasts Purdue in Crossroads Classic

The Boilermakers jump out to an early lead, but can't hold on as the Bulldogs finish on top.

The Boilermakers ( 8-3) jump out to an early lead, but can't hold on as the Bulldogs finish on top.  Terone Johnson brought in a season high 20 points (Purdue) with Bryson Scott pitching in 13.  Purdue was hurt after AJ Hammons - one of the nations leading shot blockers, fouled out of the game after just 17 minutes had passed.  Hammons pitched in 10 points and three rebounds before his exit.

Kellen Dunham seemed to be the answer for Butler (8-2), scoring 25 points, and Kyle Marshall scored 18 points with nine rebounds.  The Bulldogs are now 3-0 in Crossroad Classic games after edging by Purdue 76-70.
