Digital Services are increasingly popular with more people subscribing to Netflix or Hulu but you might want to hold off on signing up for those services once you see this offer.

The Allen County Library is making online TV and movie streaming available to anyone with a library card for free.

It's true that having fun isn't hard if you've got a library card.

Streaming movies through services like Netflix, Hulu, or Roku has become very popular over the last decade but the biggest disadvantage to these services is the monthly fees.

The Allen County Public Library is offering a new service called "Hoopla", a new digital downloading movie service.

"You can stream movies and television shows for free."

The Library is offering this free service to anyone living in Allen County.  All you need is your library card number.

"You can do it at home.  There's an app that Hoopla has that you can just download for free onto your smart phone or IPad or a laptop, then you just sign up once you get into the app, and you can begin downloading immediately."

If you're using a PC or a device that doesn't have apps, you can go to the Allen County Library's website and click on the link that guides you to Hoopla's website.

The sign-up process is the same.

"We offer about 8,000 titles right now, that will be growing as time goes on and then every month we get new titles coming in and older titles go out."

Streaming selections include popular movies, educational movies, television shows, fitness videos, music, and more.

"Much better than Netflix.  Netflix is dropping the ball a lot."

The new service that has been launched has already had a positive response.

"Oh the people just love it.  People were so excited about it when we told them about it."

If you'd like to take advantage of this new service, you can either download the app called "Hoopla" and sign up for free, or you can go to Hoopla's website at hoopladigital.com and follow the instructions for your immediate free service.
