Locally, two of our school districts had very different reactions about the results.
East Allen County Schools will probably put more weight on these scores than other districts will,” said EACS Superintendent Ken Folks.
The states largest school district Fort Wayne Community Schools call the scores invalid.
Krista Stockman with FWCS says they aren't using these scores because students experienced a number of disruptions while taking the istep+ test. The high stakes exam determines A-F grades.
An independent study revealed that the interruptions did not alter test data, but Stockman says otherwise.
"We know that in our school we had a number of disruptions during the testing process...we know that affected students,” said Stockman.
