Rachel Poole was 9 months pregnant, when she was attacked in her home by a man with a knife.  She was videochatting with her husband, a Fort Bliss soldier, at the time who could see and hear everything that was happening.

Rachel was sent to the hospital with serious stab wounds and fractures but on Friday she gave birth through C-section to healthy baby girl.

"I think the recovery is going pretty well.  We have an amazingly strong daughter who is absolutely gorgeous.  It means the world, just being able to see her and know that through everything, she is doing just fine."

Little Isabella was initially sick because of all the medications Rachel was on but she is getting healthier and stronger each day, just like her mom.

"I haven't personally gotten to see her yet, until I made my recovery I'm not going to be able to, but all the reports I have on her are doing really good."

The Poole's story has spread all across the world.  They receive hundreds of messages from strangers wishing them well.  Justin says he reads every single one of them to his wife.

"We want the people of the world to continue and pray and leave messages on our Facebook pages.  Just everyone keep daughter to make a full recovery and for my wife to make a full recovery."

Justin says the attack on his Rachel, allegedly stems from allowing the suspect, fellow Fort Bliss solider Corey Moss, to borrow this vehicle.  Moss allegedly damaged it, and tried to avoid payment for repairs.

To everyone showing who has shown support or sent donations, the Poole family wants to say thank you.

"We'd like to thank the entire community for coming together for us here in El Paso, and it's not just here, it's back in Virginia where we're from, and all Chicago where she was born and raised.  I'd like to thank my unit, who are still down range handling what they need to handle, but are still supporting us."

Rachel knew what was on the line when she fought back against her attacker, and Justin's admiration for his wife's bravery is evident in this statement he gave.

"Once my wife is out of the hospital, let the nation know she will speak up.  She wants to be more than a number, and I see her as a pillar of strength for her struggle to save not only hers, but my daughters life as well."
