Fort Wayne Police say on Wednesday of this week, 7 children, ages 1 week old to 14 years old, were found neglected in a hotel room with 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Police were called to the Hallmark Inn, in Fort Wayne and upon arrival, police assessed that the living conditions were not suitable for 7 children, and called 911 and Child Protective Services for backup.

Two of the children were found zip-tied into their car seats.  The children's clothes were soiled and very dirty, and the hotel room was found soiled in animal feces.

The van was not running and it was 8 degrees outside.  Police noticed that 3 of the children had no shoes or socks.

The parents of the children, Robert Boyko and Marian Clark, tried to get away with the kids in their van, but police were able to stop them before they could escape.

The parents went as far as to change the locks to their hotel room for their 1 week stay.

Medics made it to the scene immediately and took the baby to Parkview Hospital for treatment.  Child Protective Services took the other children into their custody.
