The man who was shot and killed across from South Side High School has been identified as 42 year old Brandon Dock of Fort Wayne who was having a conversation outside the Premium Haircut Barbershop when multiple shots were fired.

Law enforcement say that despite 41 homicides already this year, Fort Wayne is still a safe place to live.

Officer Joyner says most of the shootings are connected and the only way they will stop is if someone speaks up.  Joyner says that if the community would be involved, the amount of violence would be cut considerably.  It takes an entire community to police an entire community.

"Tell us what you know, because you know what? At some point in time, this might strike close to home, and you sat back on your laurels and decided that you didn't wanna get involved.  It's time for Fort Wayne residents to get involved.  This nonsense has GOT to STOP and we can make a difference.  Let's work together and let's take over OUR city for the GOOD of this city."

Joyner says that Fort Wayne is moving in the right direction, but says everyone has a role in this and everyone needs to get involved in order to make a difference.  There are still no suspects in this shooting.

If you have any information about the shooting you are asked to call police.
