A 15 year old narrowly escaped a car submerged in a lake in Kosciusko County.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the incident happened at Silver Lake around 10:40 in the morning.

Officials say the teen was backing his uncle's SUV with an attached boat trailer down a ramp to the lake when he accidentally accelerated instead of braking.

The teen was forced to jump from the car as it sank.  The SUV ended up about 25 yards into the lake.

The teen was not licensed to drive a vehicle.  No one was injured and no charges were filed against the uncle of the teenager.
