Article: US Soccer Players
USMNT defender DaMarcus Beasley returns to MLS as a member of the Houston Dynamo, the club announced on Wednesday. Beasley was out of contract after parting ways with Liga MX club Puebla following the 2014 Clausura season. Beasley joined Puebla in the summer of 2011 from Hannover 96.
Beasley went through the MLS allocation process for returning USMNT players. That meant Houston trading Toronto FC for the top allocation pick. Earlier on Wednesday, Houston traded midfielder Warren Creavalle and allocation money in exchange for the pick. Beasley joins Houston as a Designated Player.
“I am excited and ready to start this new chapter in my career,” Beasley said in a press statement. “I have heard great things from Brad (Davis) and Rico (Clark) about Houston, the team and the fans, and I’m excited to get to know them. I feel fit and ready to go and hope Dom (Kinnear) will see my work ethic and desire to play at a high level.”
The Houston Dynamo are 9th in the Eastern Conference, a point behind Beasley's old club the Chicago Fire.
