Memphis Grizzlies Jamaal Franklin back with The Mad Ants for his second assignment. the shooting guard has been back in Fort Wayne for a couple of games, and has been lighting up the court scoring 49 points and dishing out 17 assists in the two contests. Tim Ohlbrecht joins the Mad Ants. After starting his professional career in Germany, Ohlbrecht made his debut with the senior men's German national basketball team in 2008. He played with Dirk Nowitzki, in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Ohlbrecht played again for Germany at the FIBA EuroBasket 2009, the 2010 FIBA World Championship, and the FIBA EuroBasket 2011. He then joined the Grande Valley Vipers squad, made the All-Star Team, and was signed to a Multi-year deal with the Houston Rockets. The Warriors are sending over 50 Athletes to Track & Field National Competition. The group is looking to win back to back titles as they head to Geneva, Ohio next week to compete at the NAIA Indoor National Championships held at the SPIRE Institute, Mar. 6-8. The Indiana Tech Wrestling Team is heading to Nationals this week. This young program started just three years ago, and now find themselves qualifying at the highest level of competition. The team is taking nine athletes with them to Kansas this week, and hope to come back to Fort Wayne with the same success they experienced at the Eastern Regionals. Lady Cougars Headed to Conference Championship Game. The Cougars scored 60 points in the second half of the Semi's against Marian to bring in the 106-77 victory. They will face off against Indiana Wes. on Monday at 7:00.
The IPFW Mens Basketball Team finished their regular season with a last second thriller in Omaha on Saturday with a 96-95 overtime Victory. IPFW will head into the Conference Tournament with a #2 seed and play in state rival IUPUI. Meanwhile the Women's Basketball team secured a #3 seed after beating Omaha in the final game of the regular season 89-76.
The ILSAA State Championship Tournament wrapped up Sunday afternoon as the Final Four took the Court to yield two Champions. For the ladies; St. Johns battled St. Peters, and for the guys two Fort Wayne Teams battled for the Title - St Paul and South Unity. See video for game highlights and interviews from the Champions.
The Fort Wayne Elite 5 Cheerleading Squad is a very talented and unique set of Athletes that have earned the chance to compete at the World Competition for the second straight year; and are hoping to earn a full paid bid to worlds. Their Coach Joe Hembrect was recently awarded the Prestigious Coach of the Year award for all of his hard work and Excellence. After spending time with this group, the only thing that could do them justice was a Mini-Movie.

The Mad Ants Welcomed the Iowa Energy to The Coliseum Saturday night and handed them a 133-113 point loss. With the win, the home team claims the number one spot in the East, and number two spot overall.

Justin McCoy Selected as Mad Ants Player of the Month. The Garrett Junior led the Fort Wayne area in scoring by putting up almost 22 points per game this year, scoring as many as 30 in a game against South Adams.
McDonalds and The Mad Ants Player of the Month is Canterbury's Kendall Fincher. Fincher led her team to a 17-4 record, a spot at the Semi - States and passed the 2,000 point mark in her career this season. She averages 27 points per game.

Before the season started, Tony Jasick and his IPFW hoops teams were predicted to finish 6th and the 8th team Summit League but with the regular season winding down the Dons sit at 20-9 on the year and 2nd in the conference standings.

Mad Ants played host to Sioux Falls and gave the crowd a great show. Sadiel Rojas lit up the court with 23 points (5-three pointers) and brought down 14 boards. Tony Mitchell also had a double double with 23 points and 12 rebounds of his own. This marks the fourth straight victory for the team, and have moved up in the Standings to 4th. Lady Cougars rally late to keep Win Streak Alive. St. Francis met up with Grace College on Saturday, and found themselves trailing in the fourth quarter. That's when the girls staged a furious comeback, outscoring the home team 14-6 in the final five minutes of the game to keep their perfect record. St. Francis 26-0 on the Season.
