Polo Sandoval is following the details from Washington where officials say a missile took down the jet.
The US and Ukrainian governments each say a missile brought down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17. The Boeing 777 was blown out of the sky over an area controlled by pro-Russian separatists in Eastern Ukraine, close to the Russian border.
283 passengers and a crew of 15 are all presumed dead.
US Officials have not confirmed if any Americans are among the dead.
"The families need consolation and our prayers and their many questions that need to be answered and we'll get those answers and we'll take the next steps accordingly."
The Malaysian Prime Minister calling for full access to the crash site. Charred debris is scattered throughout a region that's seen battles between Ukrainian forces and the Separatists.
"Malaysia is unable to verify the cause of this tragedy but we must and we will find out precisely what happened to this flight."
The US military now helping to determine who fired the deadly missile and from where. The President of Ukraine calls the disaster a "terrorist attack".
The Federal Aviation Administration confirms, US Airlines have all voluntarily stopped flying through the region as the investigation continues.
