The MadAnts keep on making history during their season long journey to the top. After finishing the Regular Season with a League best 34-16 record, The team then swept each team in the Playoffs (6-0) to win the Championship Title for the first time in Franchise History.
The #1 Ranked Mad Ants faced off against the #6 Ranked Santa Cruz Warriors in Game two of the Championship Series. Santa Cruz came out to a hot start - leading the ants by nine points at one point, then The Mad Ants, and Tony Mitchell caught fire towards the end of the first quarter. Fort Wayne dominated the game until half with Mitchell scoring 25 of his 32 points before the break
The Mad Ants had another threat after half time, actually trailing at one point, but the home team fought back hard and thanks to Ron Howards clutch shooting, Chris Porter crashing the boards, and the entire teams ability to play as a cohesive unit when it mattered the most, Fort Wayne finished off Santa Cruz 119-113 to win The NBA D-League Championship Title for the first time in Franchise History.
The Mad Ants had five players in double digits led by Tony Mitchells 32 points, Ron Howard chipped in 23, with Matt Bouldin adding 20. Chris Porter had 12 points, while Tim Ohlbrecht shooting 11. Sadiel Rojas a big energy factor in the game with 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 points
