It’s a 24/7 job, with no breaks or vacation. Motherhood. Meet a local woman who makes sacrifices for her children to make ends meet. Many mothers would do anything for their children, and this woman is no exception.
"She loves us, she cares about us, she protects us." Six year old Alexiyana Ybarra describes her mother, Katie Love. "She’s nice, she's the most nice mommy in the whole wide world."

Love is a single mother of two. Alexiyana and nine-year-old Zayne.

"She hugs us and she says she loves us," said Zayne.

Love agrees motherhood is tough but raising two children as a single parent comes with its own difficulties.

"The support system was still there during my pregnancies but during these last couple years I’ve been on my own with them," said Love.

She had to grow up fast after having children at a young age.

"I had Zayne when I was 21 and I had Lexi when I was 23," said Love.

Love recently graduated from beauty school and she's searching for work. She says providing for two children on a fixed income has its challenges.

"It's taken a toll but I know the lord and he has my back so we're going to be ok. Right now I’m only getting child support as income, my child support is about $530 a month. I use my child support to pay for the utility bills and the rent."

$530 to pay for food, clothes, school supplies and other necessities. It isn’t much but love has learned how to make her money stretch.

"As soon as I found out I was pregnant I has to get rid of my selfish ways of spending money on myself,"

Love says looking back, she’s happy with the way her life has gone.

"If I could change anything I wouldn’t. All the things that have happened in my life have led me to who I am today. Motherhood never stops. There's always something you'll have to look forward to," she said.

Katie love is just one of millions of mothers doing everything they can to make ends meet. Don’t forget to thank your mothers not only on Mother’s Day, but everyday.
