Parkview Health will pay an $800,000 dollar fine to the Department of Health and Human Services to settle possible HIPAA violations, that's according to Journal Gazette.

The report says a retiring physician made a complaint to Health and Human Services, about the possible violation.

The concern was that back in 2009, cardboard boxes of medical records being delivered to a doctor's home were left unattended in the doctor's driveway since she wasn't home.

The records of up to 8,000 patients were in those boxes.
