The McMillen Park Community Center has been in the works for 4 years and it was the first project to be funded by legacy dollars.
Montique Taylor says, "I think it's a great thing especially for this area and for Park and Recreation. We don't have our own gym, so we usually have to use other Fort Wayne Community Schools and stuff like that so it's a good thing to finally have our own facility that we can use as much as possible."
6th District Councilman Glynn Hines pushed for the revamp of the center. It falls within his district on the southeast side. The project in total cost about $2 million dollars.
