A man critically stabbed on the Southeast side is now confirmed as homicide #4 for Fort Wayne and Allen County.

WFFT's Brooke Welch went to the Clark gas station on Wayne Trace and Drexel Avenue and has more on the fatal stabbing.

Residents say that they are ready for the violence to stop.

"I don't know what happened over there, but I think these crimes are getting out of hand."

According to the police report, Thursday evening, officers responded to a stabbing at the Clark gas station at the intersection of Wayne Trace and Drexel Avenue.  30 year old Raynell C. White died in the incident and is now the 4th homicide of the year for Fort Wayne and Allen County.

Neda Smith says with all the violence, she's worried about her grandchildren.

"I just don't understand it.  I just don't understand any of the things going on right now."

Louise Boyd lives 4 houses down from the gas station and is worried about her family.

"I have grandchildren, and they can't even go to the park anymore.  I stopped them from going to the park awhile back.  There was violence in the park, so they can't even go to the park."

Boyd says drug activity is taking over the neighborhood.

"There was a SWAT team here and that scared me so bad.  They had guns and everything and busted that house right there, full of drugs.  Police had to escort me to the house, and I was terrified."

Boyd had lived in her home for over 30 years but wants to move.

"There was a drug dealer living in that house right there and they threatened to shoot our house up.  We were afraid, but my husband said he had a gun and he'd shoot back."

Boyd says there's one rule for surviving on the Southeast side.

"Are there any rules? Stay close to home and mind your own business."

As for the recent stabbing? Police have reported a person of interest but no charges have been filed at this time.
